Immediate Access to Quality Care

First Call, the Matrix workplace crisis stabilization program, provides rapid access to professional crisis intervention services for all human resource, security, and management associates. When a workplace crisis occurs, research shows that timely, effective intervention greatly improves an employer’s chances of achieving a positive outcome.

First Call clients have immediate access to the highest level of psychological services any time, day or night. First Call guides associates through the traumatic time after a workplace crisis to minimize its effects by:

  • Creating structure in the midst of the crisis
  • Offering a safe haven for associates and others
  • Making order out of chaos

Clients pay no fee for First Call materials, on-site orientations, or telephone consultations. Fees are charged only for on-site workplace interventions or counseling sessions at Matrix. All First Call psychologists have Ph.D. or Psy.D. training and are certified in the highly respected Jeffrey Mitchell Model of Critical Incident Stress Management. Workplace situations that warrant a First Call response include:

  • Robbery or attempted robbery
  • Death (suicide, murder, accidental or unexpected)
  • Kidnapping or hostage situations
  • Significant injury or illness
  • Unusual and disturbing customer interaction
  • Domestic violence and its spill-over into the workplace
  • Accidental fire or arson
  • Illegal activity such as embezzlement or theft
  • Sudden and unexpected removal of someone from a job position
  • Major change in company policy or organization
  • Natural disasters
