Helping Hearts Heal

Heart Matters improves the quality of life for individuals and families affected by heart disease by combining traditional therapy with an educational component. The program helps patients and families understand the psychological aspects of cardiac care and learn skills proven to help them adjust to life with heart disease.

From diagnosis through rehabilitation, Heart Matters provides specialized therapy sessions for patients and families and maintains regular contact with each client’s cardiologist. We also offer group sessions under the leadership of a specially trained psychologist, giving clients the opportunity to share experiences with other heart patients. Each Heart Matters participant also receives professional materials to help them navigate successfully through the rehabilitation process.

Helping Kids make Healthy Choices

The Committed to Kids Pediatric Weight Management Program
is an integrated, multi-disciplinary team approach to the treatment of obesity in children between the ages of 6 and 18. Originally developed by The Department of Pediatrics of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, this program is the result of many years of medical research and development, and incorporates state-of-the-art medical and psychological techniques to address weight loss concerns.

Matrix combines expertise from psychology, medicine, nutrition, and fitness professionals to further your child's success. Weight loss is just one part of the transformation your child will experience as he or she learns to make healthy lifestyle choices that will continue long after the program ends.

For more information about Committed to Kids please call Nikki Dunbar, Program Coordinator, at 614/475-9500 or 800/886-1171 or click here.

Matrix is excited to introduce Working 2gether: comprehensive, cost-effective and time efficient diversity training. Working 2gether diversity training ensures a workplace climate where all employees feel they are valued by and contributing to the organization. By embracing individual differences as well as similarities, employees will learn to work together for a common goal.

Instead of using a limited definition of diversity that just focuses on race and ethnicity, Working 2gether programs define diversity as any factor that affects an individual’s worldview, focusing on the skills and abilities individuals bring to the workplace.

A typical Working2gether is divided into three distinct sessions:

  • Understanding Yourself in a Multicultural Context
  • Using Our Differences Effectively
  • Better Communication in the Workplace

Working 2gether programs combine informative presentations with hands-on activities that help participants apply the materials to their own experiences. Participants develop increased self-awareness, knowledge of various cultures, and skills that will help them communicate more effectively with one another.
